About Us

Lumpia Love is a celebration of Filipino culture through food. Founded by Lynette Boado, we’ve grown from humble beginnings in 2013 to become a beloved presence at farmers markets and community events. Our menu, inspired by tradition and innovation, offers high-quality lumpia that delights customers of all backgrounds.

Our Story

At Lumpia Love, we share our culture through food. Lynette Boado is the owner and her story began with separating lumpia wrappers in the basement commercial kitchen of her parent’s house when she was in high school.  One by one, the thin and fragile wrappers had to be separated without ripping them and kept moist so as not to dry out.  Her mom’s business, Lynda’s Lumpia was one of the very first food vendors at the Tacoma Farmers Market in the 80’s.  While it served some of the basic foods we serve now, recipes have been adjusted and menu items have expanded and updated.

Lumpia Love began in 2013 at small farmers markets- it took time to get into the larger, more popular ones that we do today.  It was a side hustle turned full time business in 2018.  Today, we continue to do farmers markets as well as large community events.

We especially enjoy participating in community events with an ethnic focus.  It is important for everyone to become more culturally enriched.  Food can be one part of the learning experience.
We produce a product that is high quality and in high demand.  There is a lengthy process to making lumpia and our customers span the gamut of young and old, Filipino and non-Filipino’s, people looking to try something new and those who have a love of Filipino food.  It is always fun to hear the ways that our customers are connected to Filipino food.  Their memories, interactions and love of the food and culture are a building block that brings people together.

We are looking forward to seeing you in the streets!
